In today's Annual General Body Meeting of Assam Association, Delhi , detailed discussion on proving support to the flood affected people of Assam was held thread-barely . Several persons shared their past experiences in similar exercises. There was instances when materials i.e. clothes, medicine, foods were collected in Delhi/NCR , transported to flood affected areas by volunteers who distributed materials themselves amongst affected people. Also there were a few occasions where fund ( through DD/ Cheque) were provided to CM Relief fund. There were instances where materials were transported to affected area but could not be properly utilised by local governance. So after threadbare discussion, it was decided that Assam Association, Delhi would immediately hand over an amount of Rs 1 Lakh to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund of Assam and simultaneously would appeal to Members of the Association to contribute liberally from their end ( preferably with amount higher than Rs 1000 ) to the account of Assam Association, Delhi.
