Our Next Speaker under the “AAD Talk Session “ is Dr. Lohit Datta-Barua from Houston, USA on subject viz. “Future Challenges to Assamese Language” (অসম ভাষাৰ ভৱিষ্যতলৈ প্ৰত্যাহ্বান ) “ on Sunday 25th July 2021 at 8:00 PM . This is about Assamese language which is a vibrant modern Indian language , but currently facing enormous challenges which need to be addressed .
The speaker Dr. LOHIT DATTA-BARUA is Ph.D. on Ocean engineering who has authored 11 books: https://ldattabarua.wixsite.com/ldbsite some of which are in Assamese language viz. BIBHINNA RAHAN (Various Color), ERA BATOR SUR (The Tune From The Path Left Behind), NILAKANTHAR EMUTHI GALPA AARU KAVITA, NILAKANTHAR AARU EMUTHI LIKHA AMERIKAR CHITHI (Letters from America) etc . Dr. Lohit Datta-Barua is an engineer by profession. He has a B.S. in Electronics, M.S. in E.E. and Ph.D. in Engineering with focus in Ocean Engineering. He is a past recipient of prestigious Douglas H. Annin award from the Instrument Society of America (ISA). He is also a past Key-note speaker at an annual conference of the Texas Gas Association (TGA). He Climbed Mount Kilimanjaro and Joined an expedition to Antarctica. He was Instrumental in establishing an English Language Fellow program at Univ. Agostinho Neto in Luanda, Angola. Recently he has written and published a book viz. LEARNING ASSAMESE LANGUAGE : A BRIEF HANDBOOK অসমীয়া ভাষা শিক্ষা : চমু হাত-পুথি . This book is written in English so that non-Assamese can learn Assamese. All are requested to attend the above Talk session and join the movement to promote Assamese Language
