New Delhi 16th August 20201 - Smti Lovlina Borgohain, the Olympic medal winner in the recently held Tokyo Olympic 2020 was honoured by Assam Association Delhi in Assam House , New Delhi today dated 16th August 2021. Sri Dibyojit Dutta, General Secretary, AAD met her and congratulated her on behalf of greater Assamese Community living in Delhi NCR for her remarkable achievement and wishing her best of luck for future. She was conveyed how Assamese society in Delhi NCR os elated, was waiting impatiently to wish her Best of Luck before her traveling to Tokyo Olympic and having sleepless night to congratulate her after returning with Medal. It is felt that her medal winning has uplifted the pride of the greater Assamese community along with country as whole. As she would be available in Delhi in future for her training for next Olympic, She was invited for various events organised in Delhi by AAD.
Lovelina won bronze medal at the 2020 Summer Olympics in the women's welterweight event, becoming only the third Indian boxer to win a medal at the Olympics.
