New Delhi 18th January 2021 : Assam Association Delhi celebrated Jyoti Divas yesterday Dated 17th January through Google Meet with participation of several music enthusiast from Delhi NCR Region from 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM through various cultural activities. It is to be noted that Jyoti Divas is observed on January 17 each year to mark the death anniversary of Jyoti Prasad Agarwala who was a legendary playwright, songwriter, poet, writer and film maker from Assam.

During the two hours lively session, several participants performed their favorite Jyoti Sangeet viz. Ms. Rina Handique, Dr. Ritamoni Baruah, Smti Gita Dutta (pre-recorded ), Sh Sushubhan Talukdar, Mrs. Rumi Sarmah, Smti Dipanajali Dutta, Smti Reem Pathak Miss Samaira . A few others performed various music and song viz. recitation by Dr Bipul kr Baruah, mandolin play by Dr Banajit Majumdar, self composed poem recitation by Shri Deepak Borah, poetry recitation by Ms Trishna Barkakati (pre-recorded) etc. Also several persons took part in discussion session viz. Prof Binod Khadria, Dr Nilamani Sarma , Sh. Pradip Sarmah, Sh. Prasanta Kumar Das, Sh Sushubhan Talukdar, Dr Sangeeta Dutta etc. The event ended with a decision to continue similar cultural & literary activities atleast once in a month. The event was moderated by Sri Dibyojit Dutta.
