The “Abhiruchi Sports Day” was observed in New Delhi on3rd September in whole day activity. This day is observed to mark the birth day of Sri Bhogeswar Barua , the first Arjuna award recipient from Assam. Two friendly cricket matches were played amongst four teams viz. Borluit Delhi , All Assam Students' Association-XI, Kaziranga Kings , UG 2 Gurugaon . Three teams from these teams are comprised of Assamese youths The very first cricket match was held between Borluit Delhi vs VG2 Warriors Gurugram. It started at 10:00 AM as scheduled where UG2 won the toss and decided to field. Borluit Delhi could score 120 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. In response, UG2 achieved the target in 14.3 overs. The day was sunny and bright. The 2nd match was held between AASA(All Assamese Students Assocn) ND SUPERNOVA Vs Kazironga Kings at 2:30 PM . The weather was comparatively hot & humid today but both the team played bravely where the AASA ND SUPERNOVA won. The Man of the Match was Mrigen Jyoti Kashyap and Fighter of the Match was Adil. Both were awarded with trophies during the prize distribution ceremony. The venue of the event was beautifully decorated with tents, large hoarding, table, tea, fruits juice etc. Professional umpire from DDCA Delhi District Cricket Association were involved in the match The event was organized involving Event Managing Agency to bring professional looks. Players were happy with the ambience and services and expressed to continue with regular matches which is to consider empathically .
