I joined Oil India Limited immediately after my graduation from AEC. I quit OIL in less than a year to join AMTRON R&D. I left for the US in 1991 to pursue MS in Electrical and Computer Engineering at Florida Institute of Technology. I completed MS and PhD from Florida Institute of Technology, both in Electrical and Computer Engineering, with specialty in image data compression. Subsequently I joined GE Transportation in Melbourne, Florida, USA in the train management system group, being part of world's first comprehensive computer aided dispatch system. I spent about five years in GE Transportation, from where I relocated to Muscat to join the national university of Oman as a visiting faculty for three semesters. I switched over from academic to software once again in 2003. I joined as a technical specialist in Infogain Inc., a Los Gatos (USA) based IT company. I worked mainly in transportation and logistics, being associated with world's top terminal operation management system provider Navis. I worked as the Chief Technology Officer of Infogain from 2006 till 2010, when I decided to start my entrepreneurial journey.
I initiated my start-up venture Damyant Software, with main focus in developing mobile and cloud enabled solutions for energy and financial verticals. Damyant Software has delivered several solutions to clients in upstream oil and financial verticals. Damyant Software has released its first product F-Prognos, a financial strategy research solution in 2014. The product is currently being marketed with its partner company Omkam Capital, engaged in international commodity trading. Damyant Software is engaged with IIT-Roorkee and IIT-Guwahati in the E&ICT program sponsored by the ministry of Electronics and Communication, Government of India as an industry expert.
