Jogajog - the monthly newsletter of Assam Association Delhi  for the Month of  July    2021 is attached.  The important news published  are viz.1.      Editorial -  Appeal has been made by editor to esteem readers   to  share their  important news to publish in Jogajog  through  whatsapp Number   98737638112.      Thanks giving letter from  Hon’ble Chief Minister of Assam  to Assam Association Delhi .  3.      Shardhanjhali to  Trailokya Prasad Khaund held  A  shardhanjali  meeting was   organised by Assam Association Delhi yesterday dated 20th June at 7:45 PM  through Google Meet   to pay the last respect  to  T. P. Khound  who  left for his heavenly abode  on 19th June 2021 after brief illness.  T P Khaund was Ex President , Assam Association Delhi and  Trustee of  Assam Association Education and Cultural trust .  He was  Retd (IAS ) officer and worked  on several important assignment  during his service  viz Resident Commissioner, Principal Adviser   to Governor , etc   During the  meeting, Dr Nilamani Sarma briefly described about his life and his long association with Assam Association, Delhi.  Other prominent speakers were viz. Achyut Saikia, Dr M P Bezbaruah, , Hiranya Kumar Das, Sarat Borkakoty   Dr. Jayantimala Devi ,  Smti Trishna Borkakoty  Dr Bipul Baruah, , Angshuman Baruah , Smti Reem Pathak  etc.  The condolence message of Smti Anjali Barooah was conveyed as she  was out of Station.   At the  end,   one minute silence was observed  to pay homage to Sjt T P Khaund The recorded video of the above  is Shardhanjhali is  available at https://youtu.be/R1SbgNeBkvo    4.      Bishnu Rabha Divas Observed in Delhi   New Delhi  21st June 2021   Assam Association Delhi  celebrated   “ Bishnu Rabha Divas”  on 20th June 2021 from 8:15 PM onwards thorough Google Meet  which was attended by around 80  participants from various parts of the world. An attractive cultural event was also organised to mark the event. Each year , Rabha Divas is celebrated on 20th June as  tribute to  the  death anniversary of Sri Bishnu Rabha.  The guest of honour of  the event was Sri  Prithviraj Rabha , son of legendary Bishnu Prasad Rabha who joined from   Tezpur.  In his  speech , he described various significant incidents of his father i.e.   late Bishnu Rabha during his lifetime.  Currently Sri  Prithviraj Rabha  is the  MLA from Tezpur constituency, Assam. Prior to his speech , Sri Prasanta Kumar Das  gave a  brief introduction about Sri  Prithviraj Rabha to the participants and Dr Nilamani Sarma  described  about Assam Association Delhi to Sri Rabha.Later , a  few prominent personalities spoke briefly   about Sri Bishnu Rabha. Dr Sangeeta Kakoty, renowned Artist from Assam   told  how Sri Rabha  was instrumental in bringing    transfusion of various  music of other parts of the country  into  Assamese music . Sri Bhupen Uzir and  Smti Santa Uzir described about deep  essence inside   Rabha Sangeet . A few other notable  speakers were i.e. Smti Jonali Talukdar , Smti Naba Mallika, Kishorima Kashyap Saikia  and  Mrs Jonali Dutta. Recitation  17.  Sushubhan Talukdar Song18.  Smti Nijara Nath Dance19.  Smti Reem Pathak  Song20.  Sri Rajdeep Das etcThe entire program was recorded and made available at https://youtu.be/Z1NCg8XctqcThe event was moderated by Dibyojit Dutta and  managed by  Reem Pathak, Angshuman Baruah and Prasanta Kr Das. 5.      Obituary     Smti Neelakshi Borgohain W/O Late Gunin Borgohain  breathed her last on 1st May  due to Covid-19  in a hospital in NOIDA.  She was only 40 years old at that time.  She left behind two little daughters.  Tragically, she had lost her husband Gunin Borgohain a few years before i.e. on 16th September  2018. 6.      General Body meeting of Sahitya Xora held on 27th June 2021 7.      Sodou Axom Lekhika Samaroh Samiti , Delhi Chapter Remembers Sheela Barthakur  -  Sodou Axom Lekhika Samaroh Samiti, Delhi Chapter organised a virtual meeting on June 21 to remember and pay tribute to Late Sheela Barthakur on her first death anniversary. Sheela Barthakur passed away on June 21, 2020 at the age of 84 years. Late Sheela Borthakur is the role model of all the women writers of Assam . She is the founder president of 'Sadou Axom Lekhika Samaroh Samity', an independent literary organisation for Assamese women which was established in the year 1974. She served as the President of this organisation for three times. Sheela Borthakur was born in 1935 in a small town of Jorhat, Assam . But she spent her early years in Dhaka. After she completed her graduation from Jagannath Barooah College, she got married to Sri Saranan Borthakur, who was a dancer. She started her career as a teacher, and along with it she persued her higher studies .While doing doctorate degree her thesis subject was" Social Change in Assam". She worked as an editor and had edited books of Nalini Bala Devi, Dharmeswari Devi Baruani and Sneha Devi. Govt of India awarded her with Padma Shri in the year 2008 for her contribution to the Assamese  society. Already 40 nos children has joined the courses . Amongst three senior students,  one French woman is also learning Assamese language.
