Closing Ceremony of Sattriya Dance Training in Shelter Home for Girls

This event is the closing ceremony of the 11 days training programme on Sattriya Dance held in a shelter home for girls in Delhi by Sattriya danseuse Krishnakshi Kashyap. This project organised by IPAF, a prestigious organisation working for the promotion of Art and Culture is aimed to educate underprivileged young girls in Delhi in Sattriya dance, one of the eight classical dance forms of India, with a motive of spreading this 600 year old Indian dance form from Assam among the young generation and empowerment through art and culture. Selected participants from the shelter home will perform on 18th June at Lok Kala Manch, Lodhi Road along with Krishnakshi Kashyap. Mr. George Baker, Honourable Member of Parliament and Dr. Rakesh Kumar, Country Head, United Nations Development Programme have confirmed to grace the ocassion. We request the gracious presence of all members of the Assamese community in Delhi and to support this initiative to promote the cultural legacy of Assam, Sattriya Dance.
