Recently the various issues regarding rejuvenation plan of the Sattryia School operating from Srimanata Sankardeva Bhawan under the aegis of Assam association, Delhi was discussed with SANGEET NATAK AKADEMY. Sri Dibyojit Dutta, General Secretary discussed in details with Sri Raju Das, Deputy Secretary , Sangeet Natak Akademy in his chamber at Rabindra Bhawan, Firoz shah Road, New Delhi. The various suggestions contemplating were viz. getting affiliation from a reputed Institution, upgrading infrastructure, resources, offering of online course etc. As per the suggestion, a project proposal viz. ‘Rejuvenating Plan for Sattriya School of Assam Association Delhi’ under the scheme of SANGEET NATAK AKADEMY viz. “Financial Assistance to Cultural institutions” was submitted on 30th September’ 2020.
This Sattriya School was established few years back to create provision to teach and propagate Sattriya Culture in the National Capital Delhi, to perform Sattriya dance in National / International events as a showcase of Assamese culture, to establish a Sattriya Research Centre , to integrate national mainstream through cultural exchange etc. Presently this institution has been offering 5(five) years Degree courses from it’s own institution covering Sattriya dance, classical vocal (Borgeet ), Khool (Mridangam) and Taal (Percussion). This institution is equipped with a few resources viz Harmonium (1 No.), Khool (1 No.), Bar taal (Percussion- large size 1 No.), Khuti Taal (Percussion Small Size 1 No.). The present additional demand are Harmonium (1 No.), Khool (4 Nos.), Bar taal (Percussion- large size 1 No.) and Khuti Taal ( Percussion Small Size 4 Nos. ) .
The existing faculty of the Institution are Sjt Bhabanada Borbayan (Phd in Dance) as Adhyapak/Principal, Sjt Kiran (Sattriya Graduate in Instrumentation) as faculty ( khool ), Smti Gargee Goswami (Sattriya Graduate) as faculty (Sattriya Dance). The Faculty (Borgeet ) is presently lying vacant. Most of the present faculty are offering their services on voluntary basis. Provision is also being made to strengthen the learning of Borgeet, a Classical vocal, which are a collection of lyrical songs composed by Srimanta Sankardeva and Madhavdeva in the 15th-16th centuries, used as begin prayer services in Satra and Namghar. Presently borgeet also belong to the repertoire of Music of Assam outside the religious context. Brajavali dialect is a language native to the Braj region of Uttar Pradesh, is also the language of the creations of Shankardev and Madhabdev in the form of scriptures. This school is so far self-sustaining without any external support, opening three days in a week with work hour from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM and 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM. The average nos of students in each year is 6/7 for each category of stream i.e. Dance, Instrumentation and Song.

Several brilliant performances have been made by the students of the Institution . A few notable are Parijat Horon on 11th September , 2018 on the occasion of Sankardev Tithi, Abhigyan Shakuntalam at JNU , New Delhi on October 27th, 2019, the Guru Vandana in Rangoli Bihu festival in IGCNA in 2018, Dhanya Toho Srimanta Sankara - a dance drama on the life story of Srimanta Sankaradeva, Sattriya Nritya performance at Assam Bhawan , Chanakyapuri, etc
